It’s been a while tumblr. In typical kendra fashion I’m going to post a segment of photos that have nothing to do with my trip and everything to do with my stupid sense of humor:

Meet Danger sauce: not the hero Vietnam needs, but the hero it deserves. (the result of ingesting too much radioactive Vietnamese hot sauce)

Other things to note: the people who are traveling extra are my favorite from the trip with the exception of one person whom I have some very very very strong feelings for. Like its terrifying because of the feelings. I think I’ve actually friend-zoned myself though, for real. Anyways this trip has been fucking amazing. Nailed it.

Well tumblr. This is it. I’ll see you in a month. When I get back expect some opinions on Skyward Sword and Witcher 2 (cause I’m so up to date on my video games), some more drawings, pictures from vietnam, and of course the usual mashry of nerdy goodness.

And that was the longest goodbye I’ve given anyone. I like to keep goodbyes short and sweet. It’s only a month after all. I’ll be the same but with slightly longer more scraggly looking hair, some terrible tan lines, and more knowledge of the creepy crawlys of Vietnam.

There’s a new Zelda game coming to the 3DS. In Japan, they’re calling it “A Link to the Past 2.” No English language title yet, but we know it’s set in the world of A Link to the Past.

Apparently link has the ability to turn into a drawing to make his way around tricky corners. I was almost going to start talking about how I feel about this game concept but then I remembered how I never play hand-held Zelda games. Indifferent!

I’ve been thinking hard about giving myself a drawing project for the next couple months and I’ve decided on something.. Finally.
I am going to gender bend all of the people of Skyloft (I may or may not have been playing a lot of Skyward Sword as of late). Gender bending characters has always been funny and interesting to me so I shall do this for all of them. Every character. Even the minor ones. I’m excited for this, mind you there’s going to be a big 4 week field course in Vietnam starting at the end of this month so you’ll have to hang tight for then. I’ll try and get a character out before I leave. I know I’m gonna save link and Zelda for last but who first…. Anyone have a suggestion?

This was a doodle that went a bit further and became mostly an illustration. I never actually played the game. I sat and watched my boyfriend play it while I was working on various other jobs and sketching. So technically I played through but my boyfriend was my hands on the controls. Let me tell you, I felt so bad for the kid, Wander. Because the absolute SCALE of that game… makes the player so diminutive compared to these hulking silhouettes that fill up the entire landscape.

There’s something about silent heroes in video games that makes them so incredibly compelling. They go forth and get the job done, to protect the world or a loved one. …Even if there’s an incredibly steep price to pay.

2min semester update

There’s about 55mins left of this semester for me. My final exam (which is a take home) is due at midnight tonight. I’m just putting the final touches on it - obviously I’m working down to the wire. You know, I just like to put my grades in very precarious positions. Does wonders to the stress levels. And by wonders I mean: terrible terrible things.

I’m so excited to be done this stupid stupid exam so I can… I don’t even know what I’m going to do. Probably stay up really late because of all of the execs adrenaline pumping through my veins from handing in a final exam right on the dead line making it impossible to fall asleep?

Sounds about right.

I can’t wait to start getting my shit together tomorrow.

Me emerging from a 16 hours slumber today.

Tomorrow at midnight is my LAST due date. Like the very very very last thing I have to do this semester ever. Done exams, done all my other assignments. It’s just this.

Then I’m going to spend the next two weeks in super-hardcore-mega getting my shit together mode. My sleeping, eating, and just general living habits are terrible right now. Thursday I’m tuning up my bike - if you’ve been following me from the beginning you’d know I was in a pretty serious relationship with my bike. And it’s time we got back together. Also I’m going to start going to hot yoga again, I’m gonna go over my Vietnam packing list and start packing up my room for the impending moving out I’ll be doing upon returning from Vietnam, and lastly I’m going to go back to healthy again. Because shit is getting ridiculous over here.

I love it when things end. I always means there’s some else starting and I’m pretty good at starting things off well, it’s like I attack beginnings. I just don’t have good stamina so to speak.

I also may or may not have a copy of Skyward sword put aside at work… so there’s that.
